Unsupported Hardware
The CLAS Linux Group will not provide network cables for unsupported hardware. Cables can be purchased from the Engineering Electronics shop. The CLAS Linux Group will also provide a minimal network configuration, which will probably include connectivity to the building's networked printers and the configuration of email software.
For problems with Microsoft Windows or Apple equipment, contact the CLAS IT consultant for your department or contact the ITS Help Desk.
Users who are having problems with other unsupported hardware can try contacting the CLAS Technology Services Group or the ITS Help Desk.
Enrolled students can take their personally owned computer to the ITS helpdesk for assistance as defined in this service offering by ITS https://its.uiowa.edu/ssg.
Examples of unsupported hardware:
Local printers connected to your local machine
Scanners
Personal laptops, phones, tablets, PC's/networking gear at your home
Cradles for hand-held computing devices (e.g., Mobile Phones, Tablets)
Other flavors of UNIX (Sun, SGI, AIX, etc.)
