Due to staffing, budgetary, and legal limitations, CLAS Linux Group will support only software that is:

• Installable on Supported Linux platforms;
• Necessary for a class, for research, or for day-to-day tasks carried out by most of the user community (e.g., Web browsing);
• Not a potential threat to the security of computing and networking at The University of Iowa;
• Not duplicative of software that is already installed; and
• Freely available or properly purchased and licensed software that has been approved through the Technology Review Process
